Heart failure

The term is quite scary and does not mean that the heart has stopped or stopped working. It means that the heart is not pumping as much as it should and this can cause water and salt retention, causing inflammation and shortness of breath in sufferers.

arrhythmias

The heart is an amazing organ. It beats in a controlled, steady rhythm, about 60 to 100 times a minute. That translates to 100,000 beats a day. But, sometimes, a heart does not carry this rhythm regularly, and that is when we talk about an arrhythmia.

Arrhythmias can produce irregularities in the heart rhythm, or a very slow or very fast heartbeat, and they are one of the cardiovascular diseases_cc781905-5cde-bb385d-319más1 frequent.

coronary artery disease

Although it is a common vascular disease, you may not have heard of coronary artery disease. It is the hardening of the artery that gives vital oxygen and nutrients to the heart. This hardening is also known as atherosclerosis.

Heart valve diseases

Your valves are distributed at the outlet of each of the 4 cardiac cavities and are responsible for controlling the flow of blood in the heart. Some examples of valve problems are:

  • Mitral valve prolapse: The valve between the upper and lower left chambers fails to close.

  • Aortic stenosis: your aorta becomes narrower and affects the flow of blood from your heart to the rest of your body.

  • Mitral valve regurgitation: When your mitral valve closes, it leaves a slight gap that causes blood to flow back to your heart.

Congenital heart condition

A congenital heart condition is a defect in one or more structures of the heart or blood vessels. It is generated before birth and usually occurs in 8 out of every 1,000 children, although it is still common among_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf5cardiovascular diseases.

The symptoms can appear during childhood, but in many cases, they manifest until adulthood.

cardiomyopathies

This includes diseases of the heart muscle. People with these conditions have hearts that are larger, thicker, or stiffer than normal. As a result, the heart does not pump blood properly, and without proper treatment, it can worsen over time.
